I take a lot of pictures of my children and of my cats. Kids and animals are hard because they just don't sit still. Unless distracted by food, both children and domesticated beasts tend to get excited when you pay attention to them even if you are behind a camera.
But every once in a while you get a really good shot.
See?
I have this general rule of thumb that I go by. 70 - 1. Really. Out of of every 70 photographs I take I usually get one really good one.
Yesterday it only took me 11 shots.
Don't get discouraged. You might think 11 seems like a lot. Maybe you think 70 seems like a lot, but once you own the camera and the lenses digital photography is free. Snapping a frame and deleting it costs you nothing. Keep trying. You just might get something that you really love.
